The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Barbara Ventrella can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Psych affiliation

Nursing school was where I met that Devlin dynamo we called Barbara or "Barb'. What I best remember is being away on psych affiliation together. Crossing from the residence to the floors on which we worked, we had to take the"tunnel" which ran under the street. We never were quite sure who we might meet, so Barb and I would often walk together, singing "Happy Together" ( the TURTLEs, is that right?) lifted our spirits and we shared stories of hopes and dreams of our boyfriends in the service.

I've never heard that song replayed without thinking of Barbara, remembering meeting her family, and both of us becoming nurses and mothers. Though we were primarily in touch during those early years of  raising our kids, there simply are people whose voice, laugh, smile and friendship are a "forever" in your life. Sincerest condolences to her family and friends.
