I know they have experienced a big loss because they were all so close to her, but the closeness she created will join you all together to get through. Condolence: Who would have thought that a couple we met in a strange city thousands of miles from home would turn out to be our neighbors? While searching for the metro station in Vienna years ago we met John and Barbara. Initially drawn to us upon hearing a “slight” Brooklyn accent, John and Barbara approached our group on the streets of the city. After chatting for a few minutes, we realized that we were in fact neighbors who lived just a few blocks apart.
From that chance encounter a very special friendship was born. Over the next few years we saw John and Barbara frequently. Traveling through France, New Zealand and Australia, but most often sharing an Italian meal (frequently at Mona Lisa’s) and enjoying great conversation.
But sadly our wonderful group has been forever changed. Barbara we will miss your sweet, shy smile, your genuine warmth and your unfailing support and loyalty. Thank you for entering our lives in such an unexpected way and creating such fond memories with us.
Auf Wiedersehen, our dear Austrian friend. You remain in our hearts forever.
