Obituary for Ernest "Larry" St. Laurent

Ernest "Larry"  St. Laurent
ERNEST “LARRY” ST. LAURENT, 86, of Jackson Twp., NJ, passed away on Monday, January 29, 2018, at Sunrise of Jackson, Jackson Twp., NJ. He was born in Southbridge, MA, and resided in Jackson Twp., for several years.
Larry was employed as a Mailman for the United States Post Office in Jackson Twp. and also held the position of Director of Ocean County Veterans Affairs.
He was a United States Army Veteran during the Korean War. While serving as a Sgt. First Class, Larry earned the Occupation Medal (Japan), the Combat Infantry Badge, the Korean Service Medal with 5 Bronze Service Stars, a ROK Pres Unit Citation, and A Purple Heart.
Larry was a member of the 32nd Regiment, the 7th Division, the State and National Military Order of the Purple Heart, Jackson VFW, Jackson AMVets, the Knights of Columbus, Jackson High School ROTC, the American Legion, Jackson High School Hall of Fame, and the Korean War Memorial Committee.
He was predeceased by his Mother, Irene St. Laurent; his Siblings, Cecil, Napoleon, Joseph, Paul, Anthony, Claire, Theresa, Richard, Jean, and William. Larry is survived by his Wife, Mary St. Laurent; his Son, Larry St. Laurent and his Wife, Donna; his Daughters, Michelle Miller and her Husband, Russ, Theresa Cavallaro, and Debra Burns and her Husband, Dave; his 7 Grandchildren; his 4 Great grandchildren; and by his Siblings, Yvonne, Napoleon, Francine, Pauline, and Yvette.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his visitation from 1-5 PM on Sunday, February 4, 2018, at the GEORGE S. HASSLER FUNERAL HOME, 980 Bennetts Mills Rd., Jackson Twp., NJ 08527. A funeral gathering will be offered at 10:15 AM on Monday, February 5, 2018, at the funeral home. His Funeral Liturgy will follow at 11:30 AM at the Church of St. Monica, 679 W. Veterans Highway, Jackson Twp., NJ. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 350 Province Line Rd., Arneytown, NJ 08562. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Larry’s memory to the Military Order of the Purple Heart Services Foundation, 7008 Little River Turnpike, PO Box 49, Annandale, VA 22003 www.purpleheartfoundation.org and would be greatly appreciated.
