There are so many stories to tell, from when I was a kid and "babysat" Edna & Fred's 5 to when I came back to NJ while Bob in Korea. During those 13 months I saw Edna & Fred often.
I rember one story vividly, I was at Edna & Fred's, I can still see Edna in her kitchen baclk then. Kim was not quite a year and a half & I was pregnant with Joe then. For some reason or other, we got on the topic of explaining birth & pregnancy to little kids. I was young, and maybe it was because I had been talking to Kim about this new baby about to come into our lives. Any ole who, I guess I was also worried how to explain "the facts of life" to her later on. Edna gave me the best, simplist answer, which was to give as little information as possible, depending on the age. She told me exactly how to explain birth, etc. to a 2 - 5 year old. And I used her words exactly later on. That conversation eased my worries. Edna had given me confidence to be able to figure out what to say, and when to talk to my own kids as they grew. I am forever in her debt for being one of those who helped me through those months Bob was away.
Edna was another "Mother" in my life, & Fred another Father too. I can never forget those times I spent with them. Edna had such a big place in my life, that I asked her to be Godmother ot our 5th, Mary Catherine. And what a great Godmother she was to her.
