Obituary for Manuel Aneiros, Jr.

MANUEL FRANCIS ANEIROS, JR., 87, of Jackson Twp., NJ, passed away on Tuesday, January 24, 2023, at CareOne at Wall, Wall Twp., NJ. He was born in Manhattan, NY, spent his childhood in Washington Heights, NY, teens in Fort Lee, NJ, and then resided in Emerson, NJ, prior to settling in Jackson Twp., 15 years ago. He graduated from Power Memorial High School in NYC and also took college courses in business.
He was predeceased by his immigrant parents, Manuel and Lydia (Alsina) Aneiros; his late wife, Patricia B. Aneiros; and by his son, Daniel Aneiros. Manuel is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 38 years, Bonnie Aneiros; his daughters, Patricia Jean (Aneiros) Gladski and her husband, Ronald, Michelle Leone and her husband, Robert, Holli Davila, and Donna Raymer and her husband, Jay; and by his grandchildren, Lydia Gladski, Campbell Gladski, Ashley Meyer, and Victoria Cassidy, Justin Powell and his wife, Merrita, Lauren Martin and her husband, Daniel, Kimberly Hartman, Richard Davila, and Anthony Davila; and by his many great grandchildren.
Manuel was a United States Veteran, proudly serving in the Army in Fort Hood, TX, where he earned the Sharpshooter Medal and Mechanic Award. He also served in the United States Army Reserves for four years in New Jersey.
He was employed with Colorite Plastics, Ridgefield, NJ, where he worked as Manager of Human Resources for 38 years prior to his retirement in 2005. Due to being bilingual in English and Spanish and having an even temperament, Manuel was a very successful liaison between the employees in the manufacturing plant and the executive office.
Because of his Army training in mechanics, Manuel became a jack of all trades. He was always tinkering and learned new things by trial and error. He could do carpentry, electrical, and car repairs. His favorite hobby was to proudly remodel their home in Emerson. Something was always under construction.
A humble man, Manuel was a cheerleader for all those around him. His favorite advice for when someone was up against a challenge was “Just have fun!.” He would encourage his wife, Bonnie to make time for herself because “she was worth it.” He also had many endearing nicknames for everyone.
Manuel was a loyal Giants fan (“Go Big Blue!”) and loved to attend local Air Shows to see the amazing feats of the airplane performances. He also loved DooWop, 50’s, rock and country music concerts and was mesmerized by legendary guitar players.
He enjoyed telling stories of his youth in Washington Heights at Highbridge Park, playing guitar and racing his souped up ’57 Ford Fairlane in the streets of Fort Lee and the antics with fellow colleagues at Colorite Plastics. He also had a vivid imagination creating a make believe company called ManStar with his grandchildren. They had many fun meetings where they discussed benefits which always included snacks.
His presence and loving guidance will be missed immensely. Heaven just received our beautiful angel.
Manuel was a communicant of St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church, Jackson Twp., NJ.
