Obituary for Joan M. Christian
JOAN MARIE CHRISTIAN, of Jackson Twp., NJ, passed away on July 11th, 2021, peacefully. She was born in Johnstown, Pa in 1939 as one of five children to Joseph and Anne Ferenchik. She and her husband relocated in 1960 to South River, NJ.
Joan was employed by Danka Inc in St. Petersburg, FL prior to her retirement.
She was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Samuel Robert Christian Jr.; her sister, Frances Constantino of Johnstown, PA; her brothers, Larry of CT, and Robert Ferenchik of FL. Joan is survived by her brother, Leonard and wife Cathy of Johnstown, PA; her daughters, Kathleen Cortelyou of Tierra Verde, FL and LouAnne Dubiago of Jackson Twp., NJ; her sons, Samuel Christian III of South River,,NJ , Joseph Christian of Spotswood, NJ and James Christian of Jackson Twp.,NJ ; her adored grandchildren, Erica Bodak and her husband, Robert of South River, NJ, Matthew and Emily Dubiago of Jackson Twp.,NJ , and Joseph Jr. and Anthony Christian of Spotswood,,NJ; and by her much loved great granddaughter Sadie Bodak of South River, NJ.
As an avid reader and a lifelong Mets fan, she was always on top of her game. Joan will be sadly missed by all whom have known her, she always had a smile on her face and a joke to make your day.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral liturgy at 9:30 AM on Saturday, July 31, 2021 at St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church, 935 Bennetts Mills Rd., Jackson Twp., NJ.
