Obituary for Michael R. Letnik

MICHAEL R. LETNIK, 80, of Jackson Twp., NJ, passed away on Sunday, July 4, 2021, at his daughter’s home in Howell Twp., NJ.
He was a proud United States Veteran serving as a LCpl in the Marines during the Vietnam War and earned the Sharpshooter Badge and the Good Conduct Medal.
Michael was employed as a gauger and offloader for Hess, Perth Amboy, NJ, for 38 years, prior to his retirement in 2001.
He was a member of the Jackson Marine Corps League in Jackson Twp., the Ocean Masonic Lodge in Spring Lake Heights, and former vice president of Jackson Twp. First Aid for 5 years. Michael was a war buff of all wars, and he loved music and cooking. Most of all he was a devoted husband, beloved father, and grandfather.
Michael was predeceased by his parents, Michael and Mary Letnik; his brother, George Letnik; and by his wife, Arlene in 2009. He is survived by his son, Michael J. Letnik and his wife, Judy; his daughter, Diane McClaren and her husband, Blake; his grandchildren, Blake, Roxanne, Michael, and Matthew; his sister, Nina Moscoe; his sister-in-law, Cathi Lebeda; his niece, Danielle; and by his nephew, Darren.
Arrangements are private at the convenience of the family and are under the care of the GEORGE S. HASSLER FUNERAL HOME, 980 Bennetts Mills Rd., Jackson Twp., NJ.
