Obituary for Francis J. Jelley

FRANCIS J. JELLEY, 82, born August 31, 1938, of Manchester Twp., passed away at home on May 3, 2021, surrounded by his family.
Frank was born in Brooklyn, NY and attended St. Michael’s Diocean High School in Brooklyn. He joined the United States Marine Corp. in 1957 and was honorably discharged. Frank attended evening classes at St. John’s University, Brooklyn to earn his bachelors degree while working at Equitable Life Assurance Company. He retired after 42 years of service. Frank met the love of his life, Linda (Foerst) Jelley while working at Equitable. They have been married for 59 years. They moved to Jackson Twp., NJ in 1971 and then moved to Manchester Twp in 2003.
Frank was a communicant of St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church, Jackson Twp., for 50 years.
Frank enjoyed gardening, manicuring his yard and completing any “honey do” list ever made. Since moving to Jackson, Frank always had a puppy. He enjoyed spoiling his furry friends. You would never find Frank sitting down without a puppy in his lap.
He was predeceased by his sons, Steven Brian, and Kenneth Paul. In addition to his wife, Linda, Frank is survived by his sons, Frank Jr. of Ewing, Michael of Ewing; his daughter, Donna Raff of Jackson Twp.; his grandchildren, Frank III of North Brunswick, NJ, Bryan Jelley of North Brunswick, Timothy Raff and Casey Raff of Jackson Twp; his beloved puppy “Elle Jelley”; and by his sisters, Anne Guidice and her husband, Jim of FL, and Mary Weber and her husband, Robert of IN. Frank will be missed by other family members as well.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his visitation from 11 AM-3 PM on Friday, May 7, 2021 at the GEORGE S. HASSLER FUNERAL HOME, 980 Bennetts Mills Rd., Jackson, NJ. A funeral gathering will be offered at 9 AM on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at the funeral home, followed by his funeral liturgy at 10 AM at St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church, 935 Bennetts Mills Rd, Jackson, NJ. Entombment will follow at St. Mary of the Lake Cemetery,
2351 Massachusetts Ave., Toms River, NJ 08753. CDC attendance guidelines will be followed and face masks are required for all services.
