Obituary for Grace Baldasare

Born into the world on January 1, 1930 in South Ozone Park, NY, Grace DeRuvo Baldasare was a classic lady with abounding elegance who epitomized her name “grace.”
On par with her beauty, was her strong will and quest for perfection in everything she did. Always meticulously neat, perfectly poised and impeccably dressed, Grace stood out among others. She respectfully upheld beautiful old-world values and traditions that will remain alive for generations to come.
She was a devoted daughter, sister, friend and above all, a Mother, tirelessly wanting and doing the very best for her family. Grace mastered the roles of homemaker, interior decorator, fashionista and disciplinarian dedicating much of her time and energy to ensure that her children were as well-behaved as they were well-cared for. She was also a proud and joyful grandmother and great-grandmother.
At 50 years of age, Grace recreated herself in becoming a college graduate, director of a paraprofessional medical school, and executive assistant and department manager of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (Local 25). She even managed to broaden her horizons with some domestic and international travel (Hawaii, Italy and France). In retirement, she established residency in New Jersey where she delved further into her Catholic faith attending bible study in Westlake Village and parish life at St. Aloysius Church in Jackson.
At 91 years of age, Grace is survived by her 3 children, John, Patrick and Dolores, son-in-law Larry, daughter-in-law Shelly, her 2 grandsons, Douglas and Scott, Scott’s wife Talia, and, of course, “Baby Jack” her great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 42 years, John Nicholas Baldasare.
Grace shone in every circle and will shine forever in our hearts.
