Obituary for Theresa "Tessie" Bassano (Policastro)
THERESA “TESSIE” BASSANO, 101, of Jackson Twp., NJ, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at 9:10 AM. Surrounded by her daughter and son-in-law, Lucille, and Patrick Landolfi; her granddaughter and her husband, Theresa, and William F. Bates., Jr; and her two great grandchildren, William, and Tiffany Bates. She was born in Newark, NJ, and resided in Edison, NJ, prior to settling in Jackson Twp., 25 years ago.
Theresa was employed as a machine operator for Tung-Sol in Newark, NJ, and Metex Corporation in Edison, NJ, retiring in 1986.
She was a communicant of St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church, Jackson Twp.
Theresa was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Bassano; her daughter, Louise Perez; and by her grandson, Patrick N. Landolfi. Surviving are three other grandchildren, Joseph, Vincent, and Michael Bassano; a special granddaughter-in-law, Laura Bassano; 5 great grandchildren, Jessica, Joseph, Vincent, Daniel, and Nicole Bassano; and by her great-great granddaughter, Chelsea Bassano.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her visitation from 4-8 PM on Friday, October 16, 2020, at the GEORGE S. HASSLER FUNERAL HOME, 980 Bennetts Mills Rd., Jackson Twp., NJ 08527. A funeral gathering will be offered at 8 AM on Saturday, October 17, 2020, at the funeral home. Her Funeral Liturgy will follow at 9 AM at St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church, 935 Bennetts Mills Rd., Jackson Twp. Entombment will follow in Hollywood Memorial Park, 1500 Stuyvesant Ave., Union, NJ 07083. CDC attendance guidelines will be followed, and face masks are required for all services.
