Obituary for Laura Emerson-Pochinski (Santiago)

LAURA EMERSON-POCHINSKI, 49, of Jackson Twp., NJ, passed away and entered into the Lords arms, surrounded by her loving family on Monday, September 14, 2020, at University Hospital, Newark, NJ. She was born in New Brunswick, NJ, and has resided in Jackson Twp., for 46 years.
Laura attended dental hygienist school in earlier years and was a member of the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. Laura had a love for cooking these incredible gourmet dishes and posting the restaurant quality pictures online for all of us, to only wish we would be sitting at her table, enjoying in the feast. Laura also had a passion and love for her family of Box Turtles. I lost count as to how many she actually has but when anyone would ask her if they could have one, she basically said with a firm voice, “No”. She also had a love for Lake George, NY, and spent several weeks a year vacationing on the lake with her friends and family. Lake George was a place she held sacred.
Most importantly, Laura had a HUGE heart and would do anything for anyone. She always put others ahead and leant help and support where it was needed. She was an amazing mother of her two children, Ryan, and Casey, whom she will always love dearly. Laura loved her entire family dearly and held them all close to her heart. She will be always remembered and missed by all.
She was predeceased by her Mother, Janet Santiago and joins her in Heaven. Laura is survived by her husband of 11 years, Edward J. Pochinski, III; her daughter, Casey Pike; her son, Ryan Emerson; her step-son, Stephen Pochinski; her step daughter, Rachael Pochinski; her father, Andrew Santiago; her sisters, Erica Georgiano, and Donna Dufifie; and by her brothers, John Santiago, and Jim Schiffler; along with several loving nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are private at the convenience of the family and under the direction of the GEORGE S. HASSLER FUNERAL HOME, 980 Bennetts Mills Rd., Jackson Twp., NJ. Contributions may be made in Laura's memory to Turtle Conservancy, PO Box 1289, Ojai, CA 93024, www.turtleconservancy.org., and would be greatly appreciated.
