Obituary for Rocco Antonio Bollaro, Jr.

Rocco A. Bollaro Jr., August 25, 1971-August 26, 2020. Born in Somerset, New Jersey, he grew up in Piscataway, New Jersey, attended Piscataway High School, class of 1991. Rocco, also known as Rocky to many of his closest family and friends, attended the Middlesex County Police Academy in 1991 and proudly worked as an Investigator for the Middlesex County Sheriff’s Department Fugitive Unit. He retired in 1999 from the department after an on-duty injury. He then in the year 2000 owned and operated Garden State Investigations and Security with his wife Murina, who he would say was the boss. Rocky also known as “DJ Rocky B” was the funny man in the room, crazy Uncle Rocky who loved to crack jokes on you, BBQ on his grill, showoff his fireworks display, have jam sessions in the car to old school rap, and think that he was “Bad” like LL Cool J.
He is survived by his high school sweetheart, his wife Murina, of 23 years. Everyone would say that he loved Murina with every piece of his soul and heart, he would go to the moon and back for her. He always said that Murina was the most beautiful woman and he truly meant it. He’d have to help her with her garden, and she would cut up all his t-shirts to hold up her tomato plants. And he would have to help because if he didn’t, she would mess things up. They enjoyed their daily afternoon deck private time and conversations and “TV time” which will truly be missed. The love that Rocky had for Murina was special and should set an example for others, love is selfless and you need to cherish your time with those who are important to you because tomorrow is not guaranteed.
He is survived by his daughter Gianna, 22 of Jackson, New Jersey, and fiancé Kevin Earley. He was so proud of Gianna after becoming a nurse and told her to keep pursuing her future dreams and never stop. He was her number one fan throughout every sport she played, screaming in the stands, because he knew she got it all from him. He was her go to person and he would say that she had a crazy brain just like him which was a blessing and a curse. He shaped her values about life, true love, and how special it is to be caring and compassionate to others, especially after all that he went through in his short time on this earth. He would listen to Gianna’s rants, have to pause his TV shows to continue to listen to those rants, and even though he rolled his eyes he loved every second of it. Gianna’s fiance Kevin was the son that Rocky never had and always dreamed about. Kevin and him would talk about Kevin’s day every night when Kevin got on his “stage.” He would rely on Kevin to help him fix things when he needed an extra set of hands. He knows that Kevin will take care of his family and he will forever be grateful for that.
He is survived by his youngest daughter Adrianna, 19 of Jackson, New Jersey. Two peas in a pod, a twin flame. They shared the same heart and soul between two bodies. He was so proud to have seen Adrianna grow into the woman she has become, and he loved the time they spent working on building up her car with her, even though he complained about it. They would spend hours under her car, and he would not stop until it was perfect. He looked forward to every time that she would come home and get on her “stage” to spill the tea. He would love to give her advice and be the first one to say, “I told you so”, but in a loving way. Their talks will always be special and in both of their hearts. He also shared with her how important it was to be caring and compassionate to others and that she could get through all obstacles that she faced. He protected Adrianna and could never stand to see her be unhappy for a second, he did everything for all three of his girls no matter the circumstance. His daughters knew that they could rely on him to kill every weird bug, bee, or spider. He was just the type of guy who just always knew how to fix something, whether it was an object or a heart. Daddy fix! He was their best friend and he will always give them butterfly kisses at night. He is also survived by his crazy dogs Niko aka Nikki, Major aka Alligator, and Charlie aka Chi Chi. We know Rocky is playing with his buddies Samson, Maxi, and Balto as they were a large part of his life.
He is also survived by his loving parents, Rocco, and Grace Bollaro whom he loved and always looked forward to the Sunday crab dinners and boat rides. His loving sisters Denise Cioffi of Belle Mead, New Jersey and Maria Bollaro of Jackson, New Jersey, and her boyfriend Joseph Ernest. He is survived by his in laws Dominick and Maria Carabetta of Jackson, New Jersey, and his brother in law Frank Carabetta and his wife Denise. He is survived by his nieces and nephews Dina and Cathleen, Daniel, Justin and Ana, Christian, Anthony, Brielle, Madison, Tyler, and his great nieces and nephews Tristan, Presley, and Andi, as well as his many cousins, aunts, and uncles.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his visitation from 10 AM – 12 PM with his funeral service at 12 PM on Saturday, August 29, 2020, at the GEORGE S.
