Obituary for Robert W. Trapp

ROBERT W. TRAPP, 77, of Jackson Twp., NJ, passed away on Tuesday, June 30, 2020, at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold, NJ. He was born in Jersey City, NJ, and resided in Jackson Twp., for 42 years.
Robert was a United States Navy Veteran serving during the Vietnam War and earning the Vietnam Service Medal, Navy Unit Commendation Ribbon (2 awards), the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal with device, and the National Defense Service Medal.
He was employed as an Operation Supervisor with PSE&G, retiring in 2002 after 36 years of service.
Robert was a communicant of St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church, Jackson Twp., NJ. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus #6201 and the VFW Post 4703, Jackson Twp.
He was predeceased by his parents, Robert F. and Janet Trapp, and by his siblings Janet, Russell, Gerald, and Carol Romano.
Robert is survived by his wife of 53 years, Patricia A. Trapp of Jackson Twp.; his 3 sons, Brian J. Trapp and his wife Victoria of Bayville, NJ, Mark T. Trapp and his wife Tonya of Wichita, KS, and Jeffrey D. Trapp of Jackson Twp.; his daughter, Cheryl L. Froio and her husband Tony of Howell, NJ; his 6 grandchildren, Erin, Jamie, Jason, Taylah, Giuliana, & Anthony; his brother, Donald Trapp and his wife Karen of Forked River, NJ; his sister, Margaret Bischoff and her husband Bob of Lewes, DE, and by his sister-in-law Lynn Trapp (wife of Gerald); as well as many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his visitation from 4-8 PM on Tuesday, July 7, 2020, at the GEORGE S. HASSLER FUNERAL HOME, 980 Bennetts Mills Rd., Jackson, NJ. A funeral gathering will be offered at 9:30 AM on Wednesday, July 8, 2020, at the funeral home. His Funeral Liturgy will follow at 10:30 AM at St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church, 935 Bennetts Mills Rd., Jackson Twp., NJ 08527. Interment will follow in Forest Green Cemetery, Texas Rd., Marlboro, NJ 07751. CDC attendance guidelines will be followed for all services and face masks are required.
