Obituary for Howard E. Kessler

Howard E Kessler entered his heavenly home on April 30th, 2020. He was born February 18, 1934, in Newark, NJ, and graduated in 1951 from Columbia High School, Maplewood, NJ. He was a proud graduate of Lehigh University, earning an Electrical Engineering degree in 1955 and was a member of the Air Force ROTC. He attended over 50 Lehigh Lafayette games.
Howard married Betty L. Meeh in September 1955. He served in the Air Force for 2 years, first as a Commanding Officer for one year on Tok Chok To, an island off the South Korean coast, then at a communications site at the Point Arena Air Force Base in CA. He was employed by Bell of Pennsylvania for his entire career, spending most of those years in Philadelphia, and also included time at Bell Laboratories in Murray Hill, NJ, and AT&T Headquarters in Basking Ridge, NJ. Upon his retirement in 1989, he started HB Signovations, enjoyed spending time with his family in Chadwick Beach, NJ, and boating on the Barnegat Bay. He was a member and Elder of Jackson Baptist Church, Jackson Twp., NJ.
He leaves his loving wife of 65 years, Betty; his son Steven and his wife, Janet; his daughter, Tina Starr and her husband, Scott; his son, Timothy and his wife, Hillary; his sister, Winnie Conley; his 7 grandchildren; his 2 great grandchildren; and by his caregiver, Sam Russ.
Due to the CDC guidelines pertaining to the COVID-19 pandemic, immediate funeral arrangements are private and under the care of the GEORGE S. HASSLER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson, NJ. The family is planning a memorial service in the future when we can all gather.
