Obituary for Noel George Dickinson

NOEL GEORGE DICKINSON, 87, of Jackson Twp., NJ, passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2020, at home.
He proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War and was honorably discharged as an Airman First Class.
Prior to his retirement, Noel was employed with the State of New Jersey, Department of Transportation, where he worked as an electrical technician and inspector. Prior to his employment there, Noel worked for the Mosler Safe Company in Irvington, NJ for many years.
Noel was the owner and captain of the charter fishing boat, the Ginny Lynn, named for his beloved wife which was based out of Belmar, NJ. He was an avid lifetime fisherman who passed on his love of boats and the ocean to his children and grandchildren. He was also a model train enthusiast, collecting, repairing, building, and demonstrating elaborate train layouts and was also a member of the Ocean County Society of Model Railroaders. He was also a member of the Disabled American Veterans. He enjoyed and loved his country, cold beer, corny jokes, singing Irish music, and most of all spending time with his family.
Noel was predeceased by his parents, Clay and Lillian Dickinson; and by his brothers, William and Adelbert Dickinson. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Virginia Dickinson of Jackson Twp.,; his two daughters, Danielle Corso of Westfield, NJ and Krista Dickinson of Point Pleasant, NJ, along with his son-in-law Vincent Corso, Sr., and his three loving grandchildren Vincent Jr., Elena, and Kory, and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Due to CDC guidelines regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, immediate funeral arrangements are private and were handled by the George S. Hassler Funeral in Jackson Twp.
