Obituary for Harry C. Bermes
HARRY C. BERMES, 74, of Howell Twp., NJ, passed away on Monday, March 9, 2020, at Ocean Medical Center, Brick, NJ. He was born in Hoboken, NJ, and resided in Weehawken, NJ, prior to settling in Howell Twp., 3 months ago.
Harry was a United States Air Force Veteran proudly serving during the Vietnam War.
He was employed as a truck driver with the teamsters, retiring after 40 years of service.
Harry was a former member of the Weehawken Elks lodge #1456 and was the great-great grandson of the Bermes Family Brewery of Union City, NJ.
He was predeceased by his parents, Harry and Mary Bermes; and by his brothers, Dennis and Gary Bermes. Harry is survived by his daughters, Kelly Wines and her husband, Bill of Howell Twp., NJ, Tracey Bermes of Freehold, NJ, and Janice Bermes of Bradley Beach, NJ; his grandchildren, Elizabeth Wines, Gianna Tomaino, Charles Wines, and Brielle Forman; and by his former wife, Joan Bermes of Howell Twp.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his visitation from 4-6:30 PM with his Funeral Service at 6:30 PM on Thursday, March 12, 2020, at the GEORGE S. HASSLER FUNERAL HOME, 980 Bennetts Mills Rd., Jackson Twp., NJ 08527. A private cremation will follow.
