VIRGINIA LaMONICA-PETTIGNANO, 80, of Howell Twp., NJ, passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2020, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune, NJ. She was born in Brooklyn, NY, and resided there until settling in Howell Twp., 8 years ago.
Virginia was employed with Security at Sheepshead Bay High School, NY for 10 years prior to her retirement in 2009. Prior to that, she worked as a cook at St. Mary Mother of Jesus Rectory and as a CNA for Holy Family Nursing Home.
Virginia was a communicant of the Church of St. Veronica, Howell Twp., NJ.
Virginia was a cherished mother and an adored grandmother and great grandmother.
She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Olga LaMonica. Virginia is survived by her children, George and his wife, Patricia of Howell Twp., Thomas of Florida, Linda of Brooklyn, NY and Christopher and his wife, Lisa of Hensonville, NY; her grandchildren, Virginia, Joseph and his wife, Nicole, Julia, Danielle, Theresa, Salvatore, Anthony, Gina Marie and Joseph; and by her great grandchildren, Domenick, Sofia and Lorenzo.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her visitation from 2-4 PM & 7-9 PM on Wednesday, February 26, 2020 at the GEORGE S. HASSLER FUNERAL HOME, 980 Bennetts Mills Road, Jackson Twp., NJ. A funeral gathering will be offered at 8:15 AM on Thursday, February 27, 2020 at the funeral home. Her funeral liturgy will follow at 9:30 AM at The Church of St. Veronica, 4215 Rt. 9 N, Howell Twp. A private cremation will follow.
