Obituary for Thomas H. Meyer
THOMAS H. MEYER, 85, of Jackson Twp., NJ, passed away on Friday, January 31, 2020, at Monmouth Medical Center, Southern Campus, Lakewood, NJ. He was born in Union City, NJ, and resided in Jackson Twp., for the past 58 years. Thomas was a United States Veteran where he served in the Army Reserves earning the rate of SP5.
He was employed as a Carpenter and Millwright for 55 years prior to his retirement.
Thomas was a Fireman with Jackson Twp. Volunteer Fire Co. #1, in Jackson Twp., for 50 years.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Arlene H. Meyer; his children, Thomas and his companion, Darlene, Kathleen and her husband, Douglas, and Nancy and her companion, Rick; his 6 grandchildren, Thomas, Stacy, Barrett, Heather, Douglas, and Nicholas; his 6 great grandchildren, Charlotte, Josie, Alex, Clara, Thomas, and Luke; his sister, Evelyn Farmer; and by his many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his visitation from 2-5:20 PM with his funeral service at 5:20 PM, followed by the Jackson Twp. Fire Department Service on Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at the GEORGE S. HASSLER FUNERAL HOME, 980 Bennetts Mills Rd., Jackson Twp., NJ 08527. A private cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Thomas’ memory to Jackson Twp. Volunteer Fire Co. #1, Station 55, 13 North New Prospect Rd., Jackson Twp., NJ.08527, and would be greatly appreciated.
