Obituary for Denise Scala (Mielniczuk)
DENISE SCALA, 54, of Jackson Twp., NJ, passed away on Saturday December 14, 2019, at Hackensack Medical Center, Hackensack, NJ. She was born in Bayonne, NJ, and resided there before moving to Jackson Twp., 20 years ago.
She was the owner/operator of Dee Dee’s Doodles in Jackson Twp., prior to that she was employed by Pershing Securities in Jersey City, NJ.
Denise was communicant of St Aloysius Roman Catholic Church, of Jackson.
She was predeceased by her father, Julian Mielniczuk. Denise is survived by her husband of 31 years, Thomas Scala; her sons Bryan T. Scala of Jackson Twp., and Charles J. Scala and his wife, Julie of Lindenhurst NY; her daughters, Erika C. Scala of Jackson Twp., and Kristie M. Scala and her companion, Brian Peterson of Jackson Twp.; her grandson, Harrison Scala; her granddaughters, Breanna L. and Cassandra E. Peterson; her mother, Eleanor Karwowski of Bayonne, NJ; her sister, Helene Kapica and her husband, Janusz of Bayonne; her sister- in- law, Jacqueline Barber and her husband, Greg, and their daughter Kelsey Barber; her goddaughter/niece, Janene Kapica of Bayonne; and by her mother- in- law, Carolyn Smith Bialt.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her visitation from 2-4 & 6-8 PM on Wednesday, December 18, 2019, at the GEORGE S. HASSLER FUNERAL HOME, 980 Bennetts Mills Road, Jackson Twp., NJ. A funeral gathering will be offered at 8:30 AM on Thursday, December 19, 2019, at the funeral home. Her funeral liturgy will follow at 9:30 AM at St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church, 935 Bennetts Mills Road, Jackson Twp., NJ. A private cremation will follow.
