Obituary for Mary Ann Russo (Wallace)
Mary Ann Russo, 64, of Toms River, NJ, passed away Friday, August 16, 2019, surrounded by her loved ones at Community Medical Center, Toms River, NJ. She was born in Staten Island, NY, and lived in Jackson Township, NJ, prior to settling in Toms River, five years ago.
Mary Ann was a nurse who spent most of her career working for Village Medical Associates in Freehold, NJ. After she retired, she became a volunteer for Holiday City West and was active in the Out and About Club. She was very thankful for the friends she made there and throughout her life.
Her biggest blessing was her family, who meant everything to Mary Ann. She was predeceased by her parents, Vincent and Martha Wallace, her brothers, Michael and Brian Wallace, and by her sister, Sharon Thomas. She shared a deep love with all her siblings and is survived by her brother Kevin Wallace and her sisters, Theresa Cassano and Nora A. Neglia, who have shared and will continue to share that same value in family throughout all their years together. She is also survived by her husband, Frank Russo, whom she built an amazing life with for the last 30 years. Her heart and her spirit are left living in her children; her son, Devin Graf; and her daughter, Elizabeth Russo.
Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate the life that Mary Ann lived so well. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at the GEORGE S. HASSLER FUNERAL HOME, 980 Bennetts Mills Road, Jackson Twp., NJ. A funeral gathering will be Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at 9:15 AM at St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church, 935 Bennetts Mills Road, Jackson Twp., NJ. A private cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers, people are encouraged to make a difference in the lives of others, as Mary Ann did. Memorial contributions can be made in her memory to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942, or the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O.
