Obituary for Lawrence John "Larry" Skelson Sr.
LAWRENCE “LARRY” JOHN SKELSON, SR., 79, of Marco Island, FL, passed away on Saturday, May 4, 2019, surrounded by his family and loved ones. He was born in Staten Island, NY and resided in Jackson Twp., NJ, prior to settling in Marco Island, 20 years ago.
Lawrence was a United States Veteran, proudly serving in the Army.
He was a self employed builder and building inspector for Larry Skelson, Inc., Jackson Twp., NJ.
Lawrence’s passion was his work, doing construction of high rise buildings in NYC to building homes and being a building inspector. He enjoyed a retired life in Marco Island, FL for 20 plus years. He was an avid bowler, golfer and boater.
He was predeceased by his parents, Alfred and Clarice Skelson. He is survived by his daughters, Lisa Clancy and her husband, Tom of Jackson Twp., and Lynn Hahn and her husband, Nelson of Howell Twp., NJ; his grandchildren, Jessica and Jenna Hughes, Thomas and Jillian Clancy, and Hunter Hahn; and by his many friends and family.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his visitation from 4-8 PM, on Tuesday, May 7, 2019, with his funeral service at 7:30 PM at the GEORGE S. HASSLER FUNERAL HOME, 980 Bennetts Mills Rd., Jackson Twp., NJ. Cremation will be private. If so desired, contributions may be made in Lawrence’s memory to the American Cancer Society, 801 Broad Street, Shrewsbury, NJ 07702, and would be greatly appreciated.
