Obituary for Thomas W. Runkel
THOMAS W. RUNKEL, 64, of Jackson Twp., NJ, passed away on Tuesday, February 5, 2019, at home. He was born in Elizabeth, NJ, and resided in the Madison Park section of Old Bridge, NJ, prior to settling in Jackson Twp., 31 years ago.
Thomas was employed with Rex Lumber, Englishtown, NJ, for the past 30 years.
He loved fishing, camping, photography, woodworking, and being outdoors, visiting Promised Land State Park and Childs Park in PA, Cape May Point in NJ, and the Colorado Rockies.
Thomas was predeceased by his mother, Phyllis Runkel. He is survived by his wife, Bridget (McCall) Runkel of Jackson Twp.; his son, William Runkel of Honolulu, HI; his daughter, Cassie Runkel-Mechler and her husband, Joseph of Barnegat, NJ; his father, Edgar Runkel of Parlin, NJ; his brothers, Scott Runkel and his wife, Susan, David Runkel and his wife, Catherine, and Timothy Runkel and his wife, Rosa; his in-laws, Patrick and Linda McCall and the entire McCall family; and by his many beloved nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his Memorial Gathering from 1:00 – 3:30 PM followed by his Memorial Service at 3:30 PM on Saturday, February 9, 2019, at the GEORGE S.
