Obituary for William P. Barton

WILLIAM P. BARTON, 96, of Jackson Twp., NJ passed away on Friday, December 21, 2018 at his home. He was born in Brooklyn, NY, had resided in Somerset, NJ and raised his family before moving here 20 years ago.
William worked as a facilities planning manager for Allied Chemical/Honeywell in Morristown for 45 years, retiring in 1986.
William served in the United States Army, 859th Medical Detachment during World War II. He was honorably discharged after 4 years of service, achieving the rank of Sergeant.
He was a communicant of St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church in Jackson Twp.,
a member of the American Legion Post 1060, Brooklyn, NY, the Jackson Senior Club and a proud Irish member of the Winding Ways Italian-American Club, in Jackson Twp.
Bill will be remembered for his love for his family, especially his grandchildren, his faith, his kindness, and his ability to have a joke for every occasion.
William was predeceased by his parents, Chauncey and Veronica Barton; and by his siblings, Veronica, Edward, Joseph and James. He is survived by his beloved wife of 70 years, Eleanor; his Son, William P. Barton, Jr. of Marlboro, NJ; his daughters, Janis Leclercq and her husband, Lawrence of Brick Twp., NJ and Joan Haggar and her husband, Fred of Freehold, NJ; and by his grandchildren, Brittany Ann and her husband, Justin, William P. III and his fiancé, Jacqueline, Kristen, Lawrence, Jr., Jillian, Joseph, Katelyn and Alexandra.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his visitation on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 from 2-4 PM & 7-9 PM at The GEORGE S. HASSLER FUNERAL HOME, 980 Bennetts Mills Rd., Jackson Twp., NJ. A funeral gathering will be offered on Thursday, December 27, 2018 at 8:00 AM at the funeral home. His Funeral Liturgy will follow at 9:00 AM at St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church, 935 Bennetts Mills Rd., Jackson Twp., NJ. Interment with military honors will follow in Brig. Gen. William C.
