Obituary for Robert Kellett

ROBERT KELLETT, 90, of Jackson Twp., NJ, passed away peacefully under hospice care at Bartley Healthcare Center, Jackson Twp., on Tuesday, November 27, 2018. He was born in East Orange, NJ, grew up in Denville, NJ, spent 43 years with his wife in Succasunna, NJ, before retiring to Jackson Twp., in 1997.
Bob, a graduate of Dover High School, served his country during the Korean War before returning home to become a claims investigator and later a claims manager until his retirement in 1990.
He was an active member of the Jackson United Methodist Church where he served on several committees and spent numerous hours caring for the church grounds. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 504.
Ever curious about the world and how things worked, Bob was skilled in home renovation and woodworking and volunteered his time and knowledge to Christian Outreach, a teen-based program to renovate and repair the homes of needy seniors. He also loved fishing and gardening, growing beautiful dahlias and roses.
Bob is survived by his wife of 64 years, Ruth Audet Kellett; his children, David S. Kellett and his wife, Anne McKenna, Stephen E. Kellett and his wife, Lee, and Lisa K. Beumee and her husband, Gary; his grandchildren, Amanda and her wife, Isa, Jillian Kellett and Madison, Ian, and Hayden Beumee. He also leaves behind his brother, Richard Kellett; his sister-in-law, Margaret Audet, his two nieces; and his two nephews and their children.
A celebration of life with Military Honors and inurnment in the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Arneytown, NJ will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in the memory of Robert to Alzheimer’s New Jersey, 425 Eagle Rock Ave., Suite 203, Roseland, NJ 07068 www.alz.org and would be greatly appreciated.
