Condolences

Condolence From: Douglas Keefe
Condolence: I regret being unable to attend todays service, but I would like to leave a few words about the Nick Klemm I knew. Nick and I worked together for many years at Atlantic City Electric Co. We ate lunch together almost daily and through our interaction I learned what a wonderful person he was. He was truly the personification of The Greatest Generation, Having survived the war, returned to pursue his education, married and with Marie raised a family they were proud of. He didn't tell many war stories, but the ones he told avoided the horror and in some cases were humorous. The one I liked and have retold is about the time they were driving around the countryside low on gas. They spotted and drove up to a fuel depot, only to discover it was a German fuel depot, which fortunately no Germans were around. His attitude "oh well, gas is gas" they filled up and drove away unspotted. Nick had the ability to make anyone feel welcome, stranger or friend. He was the easiest going person I knew and I have never seen him angary. After his retirement I only saw him once or twice but I was glad to learn he had a full and enjoyable retirement, one much deserved. Nick, rest in peace, I miss you. Doug
