Obituary for Emily Borgen
EMILY BORGEN, 93, of Jackson Twp., NJ, passed away on Friday, July 20, 2018, at CareOne in Jackson Twp. She was born in Newark, NJ and resided in Belmar, NJ before settling in Jackson Twp., 6 years ago.
Emily was employed as a factory worker for 20 years for Revlon Consumer Products, Edison, NJ, prior to her retirement.
Emily was an artist in several different mediums. She sang with several groups on the radio in the 1940’s. She was a member of St. Bernadett’s Choir in Madison Park for many years.
She was a very loving mother to all, always there for whomever needed her. Emily took great joy in crafts and music and the simple pleasure of watching the birds outside of her window. Anyone who met her called her a sweetheart.
Emily was predeceased by her parents, Joe and Amelia Rappel; her husband, Paul Borgen; her brother, John Rappel; and by her sister Josephine Klein. She is survived by her son, Paul Borgen of Jackson Twp.; her daughter, Pat Schwarick of Jackson Twp.; her grandsons, Bill Schwarick and his wife Dianna and Noah Borgen and his wife Laura; her granddaughter, Carrie Borgen and her husband, Erik Harris; and by her 3 great grandchildren, Alanna, William and Sara.
Entombment will be at 11 AM on Wednesday, July 25, 2018, in St. Catherine’s Cemetery, 1100 W. Chicago Blvd., Sea Girt, NJ 08750. Arrangements are under the care of the GEORGE S. HASSLER FUNERAL HOME, 980 Bennetts Mills Rd., Jackson Twp., NJ 08527.
