Obituary for Eleanor Burlew (Schwarz)
ELEANOR (SCHWARZ) BURLEW, 95, passed away on Monday, July 9, 2018. She was born on July 24, 1922, in Germany and came to America in 1929. She lived in New York, later moving to the Browntown section of Old Bridge. She lived there many years having married Frank and raising her three daughters and a granddaughter. She later resided in Howell, NJ, and Parksley, VA.
Eleanor was employed for over 25 years for E.I. Dupont Company in Sayreville, NJ, prior to her retirement in 1987. She was the first female employee to be promoted to a manager position.
She was a past member of the Eastern Star in South River, NJ.
Eleanor enjoyed sewing, gardening, traveling and being surrounded by family.
Eleanor is survived by her Daughters, Julie Vreeland, Carol Rupeikis, and Kathy Fleming and her Husband, Doug; her Grandchildren, Paul Vreeland and his Wife Tammy, Cheryl Vreeland, Lavonne Reid and her Husband Tony, Pam Becker and her Husband Dan, Joe Molnar, Ross Molnar and Brandon Fleming; 10 Great grandchildren; and by 2 Great-great grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her Visitation from 4-8 PM on Wednesday, July 11, 2018, at the GEORGE S. HASSLER FUNERAL HOME, 980 Bennetts Mills Road, Jackson Township, NJ. A Funeral Gathering will be offered at 10:30 AM followed by her Funeral Service at 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 12, 2018, at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Old Tennent Cemetery, 454 Tennent Rd., Englishtown, NJ 07726.
