The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Nico Castanon can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Condolence: It is with the deepest sympathy that I write this condolence about one of our Jackson Township Air Force JROTC cadet alumni (Nico). Nico was a very talented and charismatic cadet who got along with all of his team members. I remember the first time I met Nico and his black hair was down to his shoulders. When we (Major Macagnone and I) told him he had to cut his long hair he didn't say much but I thought to myself he might not want to stay in the program because of the hair policy. One week later I saw this young man in uniform among the other cadets at one of our community service events and I asked one of my cadet leaders who that cadet was and they responded (Nico). I had to look twice and what I saw was one of the sharpest looking cadets I have ever had in our program. He looked great in his USAF Uniform and with his new haircut. At that point Nico started to stay after school regularly and became a member of our award winning drill team where he excelled. The very next year Nico earned an opportunity to command our drill teams and under his leadership we earned many trophies during his tenure as Drill Team Commander. It was my pleasure knowing Nico and having him as a member of our unit during his high school years.

Condolence: Dear Tracy; I am so sorry to learn of the passing of your beloved son. I was your neighbor on mackenzie drive and Nico went to school with Michael. I remember one day when they played together when they were little. I will remember his beautiful smile. God bless you and your family at this very difficult time. Margaret Weeks
