Virginia M. "Ginny"  Rubin (Truex)
Virginia M. “Ginny” Rubin, 93, of Howell, NJ, passed away on Thursday, January 11, 2018, at home. She was born July 16, 1924, in Little Silver, NJ, and raised in Lakewood, NJ. She resided in Howell, NJ, for over 60 years.
Ginny was a beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was also a devoted parishioner at Christ United Methodist Church (CUMC) in Lakewood, NJ, serving as a Sunday School teacher for over 50 years and working on many committees. Ginny was a member and held many board roles at the YWCA of Lakewood, NJ. She was a founding trustee and honorary lifetime President of the Ocean County Women’s Association. Ginny worked as an aide for the Howell Township School District for more than 24 years.
Ginny was predeceased by her parents, Leslie Windom and Helen (Robertson) Truex; her husband, Gilbert Rubin; and by her siblings, Earl, Alfred, Lester, Raymond, Marie Burke and Dorothy Bianchini. She is survived by her daughters, Leslie Kirsch of Port Charlotte, FL, Jo-Anna Rubin-Berman of Haddonfield, NJ, Denise Rubin Trimboli of Colts Neck, NJ; her son, Joseph Rubin of Howell, NJ; her granddaughters, Michelle Rubin Hotchkin of Howell, NJ, and Rosemarie Virginia Trimboli of Colts Neck, NJ; and by her great grandson Devon Rubin of Howell, NJ.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her graveside inurnment at 10:00 AM on Saturday, January 27, 2018, at the Laurelton Cemetery, 1824 Rt. 88 East, Brick, NJ 08724. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 11:00 AM at Christ United Methodist Church, 678 Fifth St., Lakewood, NJ. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Ginny’s honor to the Christ United Methodist Church of Lakewood or to the Ocean County Women’s Association, 877 B Winchester Ct., Manchester, NJ 08759 and would be greatly appreciated. Funeral arrangements are under the care of the GEORGE S. HASSLER FUNERAL HOME, 980 Bennetts Mills Rd., Jackson Twp., NJ.
