EDWARD SAMUEL TREMBLAY, It is with heavy hearts that the Tremblay family announces the passing of Edward S. Tremblay, 92, on September 12, 2018, in Jackson Township, NJ. He was born and raised in Metuchen, NJ, and lived there for more than 60 years before relocating to Toms River, NJ and Brick, NJ before settling in Jackson Township.
As a graduate of Manhattan School of X-Ray, he began his career at Christ Hospital, Jersey City, NJ. It was there he met his wife, the love of his life, Thelma. During Ed’s working career he was employed by The X-Ray Group, New Brunswick, NJ, Singer Corporation, Elizabeth, NJ, and Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch, NJ, retiring in 1994.
Ed was a man of service, first serving his country in the United States Navy during WWII stationed with the 7th Marines, 1st Marine Division, as a medic. Later he became a Charter Member of the Metuchen First Aid Squad. He supported his profession as a member and founding father of the New Jersey Society of Radiologic Technologists. As a Lay Leader, he served the congregations of Centenary United Methodist Church in Metuchen and St. Andrew United Methodist Church in Toms River.
Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife of 67 years, Thelma; and his 4 children, MaryJo Perry (Martin), Donna Fulton (Edward), Edward Jr. (Phyllis Ashcraft) and Laura Mistretta (Vincent). He is loved and missed by his 9 grandchildren and their spouses, as well as 9 great grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to celebrate his life at 12:30 PM on Sunday, September 30, 2018, at St. Andrew United Methodist Church, 1528 Church Rd., Toms River, NJ 08755. Arrangements are under the care of the GEORGE S. HASSLER FUNERAL HOME, 980 Bennetts Mills Rd., Jackson Twp., NJ 08527.
