Obituary for Gary Wayne Hansen

Gary Wayne  Hansen
GARY WAYNE HANSEN, 64, of Jackson Twp., NJ, passed away on Thursday, August 30, 2018, at home. He was born in New Brunswick, NJ, and resided in East Brunswick, NJ, prior to settling in Jackson Twp., 36 years ago.
Gary graduated Rutgers University with a BA in Landscape Architecture.
He was a self-employed Landscape Architect, retiring in 2010 after 45 years of service. Gary was an accomplished architect whose keen eye for design enhanced his clients’ outdoor environment. He was awarded numerous accolades and had many of his designs published in accredited magazines.
Gary was a die-hard Yankee fanatic, an avid fisherman, loved golf, and was fortunate to be invited to the 2013 USGA Open as a chaperone. He was also a proud member of the NRA.
He was a loving man, wonderful father, grandfather, and will be greatly missed.
Gary was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Rose Hansen; and by his brother, Neil Hansen. He is survived by his son, Eric Hansen of AZ; his daughters, Rebecca Hansen of Allentown, NJ, and Cori Hansen-Eckman and her husband, Greg of Jackson Twp., NJ; his 3 grandchildren, Jacob, Juliana, and Abigail; his brother, Joseph Hansen of Hillsboro, NJ; his sister, Nancy Stinson of Whiting, NJ; his many nieces and nephews; and by his former wife, Michelle Hansen.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his Memorial Gathering from 3-7 PM with a Eulogy Service at 6 PM on Thursday, September 6, 2018, at the GEORGE S. HASSLER FUNERAL HOME, 980 Bennetts Mills Rd., Jackson Twp., NJ. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Gary’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105-1942 or to Pick Your Paw Animal Rescue, 450 Shrewsbury Plaza, Unit 129, Shrewsbury, NJ 07702 and would be greatly appreciated.
