Obituary for MaryAnn DiAngelo (Whalen)

MARYANN WHALEN DI ANGELO, age 77, of Jackson Twp., NJ, passed away on Sunday, June 24, 2018. She was born to James and Mary Whalen and raised in Jersey City where she met and married the love of her life, Joseph Di Angelo. MaryAnn worked at the Lipton Tea Company in Hoboken, NJ, and then at Oakite Inc. in New York City. After raising her family of six children, MaryAnn was an office manager for medical groups, before retiring in 2006 and moving to Westlake Golf and Country Club in Jackson.
MaryAnn and Joseph were married for over 58 years and raised their six children in Ridgewood, NJ. Everyone who met MaryAnn would immediately see her love and devotion to family. She was extremely passionate and proud of her family and loved spending time with them.
MaryAnn was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Mary Whalen; and by her brother, James Whalen. She is survived by her loving husband, Joseph; her children, Debra Ann Lombardo and her husband, Bernie, Diane Schneeloch and her husband James, Richard Di Angelo and his wife, Lisa, Michele Schulman and her husband Stuart, Jeffrey Di Angelo and his wife, Pamela, and Robert Di Angelo; her cherished grandchildren, Matthew, Ryan and his wife, Rachel, Samantha, Mark, Jenna, Megan, Tyler, Drake, Ava, Jake, Andrew, David, Conner and Owen; her sister, Margaret Shopp; and by her numerous relatives including nieces, nephews and their respective families.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her visitation from 4-8 PM on Thursday, June 28, 2018, at the GEORGE S. HASSLER FUNERAL HOME, 980 Bennetts Mills Rd., Jackson Twp., NJ 08527. A funeral gathering will be offered at 8:30 AM on Friday, June 29, 2018, at the funeral home. Her Funeral Liturgy will follow at 9:30 AM at St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church, 935 Bennetts Mills Rd., Jackson Twp., NJ. A private cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in MaryAnn’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105-1942 and would be greatly appreciated.
