Obituary for Maureen Carey
MAUREEN CAREY, 87, of Jackson Twp., NJ, passed away on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at her daughter’s home in North Arlington, NJ. Mary was born Killimer, County Clare, Ireland, and resided in West Keansburg, NJ before settling in Jackson Twp., 20 years ago.
She was employed as a nurse’s aide/nurse at Desalle Hall, Christian Brothers Academy, Lincroft, NJ, prior to her retirement. She previously was employed by Arnold Walter Nursing Home and various hospitals in Dublin, Ireland, England, Toronto and NYC.
Mary was a communicant of Saint Aloysius Roman Catholic Church in Jackson Twp., and was a former parishioner of Saint Ann’s Church in Keansburg.
Mary was predeceased by her husband, Peter J. Carey Sr.; and her brother, John Mangan. She is survived by her son, Peter Carey, Jr. and his wife Kathleen of Locust, NJ, and her daughter, Colleen Doherty and her husband Danny of North Arlington, NJ; her grandchildren, Fallon Carey, Aidan Carey, Megan Doherty, Liam Doherty and Fiona Doherty; her brother Paul Mangan of County Cork, Ireland; and by her sister Teresa Cullinan of County Clare, Ireland.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to her Funeral Liturgy on Monday, May 14, 2018 at 10:30 AM at St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church, 935 Bennetts Mills Rd., Jackson Twp., NJ. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s of the Lake Cemetery, 1 Honey Locust Drive, Lakewood Twp., NJ.
