Herbert R.  Soerensen
HERBERT R. SOERENSEN, 87, of Toms River., NJ, passed away on Tuesday, January 23, 2018, at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Twp., NJ. He was born in Jersey City, NJ, and resided in Toms River most of his life.
Herbert was a 1957 Graduate of Rider College and a 1968 Graduate of New York University where he earned his MBA.
He was employed as the Vice President of the Investment and Pension Fund at the Jersey Shore Savings and Loan, Toms River, NJ, retiring in 1993 after 20 years of service.
Herbert was a United States Army Veteran serving during the Korean War.
He was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Toms River.
Herbert was predeceased by his Wife of 10 years, Bernadette in 1994. Bernadette was a Toms River Elementary School Teacher.
He is survived by his Niece and Nephews, Linda Lahann Ronan and her Husband, David of Freehold, NJ, Paul Lahann and his Wife, Julie of Gainesville, VA, and Clifford Lahann and his Wife, Paula of Philadelphia, PA; his Grand Nieces and Nephews, Kate Masucci of Hanover, PA, Dana Ronan of Arlington, VA, Melissa Ronan of Freehold, NJ, Lauren Lahann of NYC, Luke Lahann of Philadelphia, PA, Erin Lahann of Philadelphia, PA, Brianna Lahann of Philadelphia, PA, William Lahann of Gainesville, VA, and Andrew Lahann of Gainesville, VA; and by his Brother-in-law, Wilbur Lahann of Bayville, NJ.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his Funeral Service at 12:30 PM on Friday, March 16, 2018, at the Presbyterian Church of Toms River, 1070 Hooper Ave., Toms River, NJ 08753. Please gather at 12:15 PM at the church. Inurnment will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, 56 Cedar Grove Rd., Toms River, NJ 08753. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Herbert’s memory to the Wounded Warrior Project, National Processing Center, PO Box 758517, Topeka KS 66675 www.woundedwarriorproject.org and would be greatly appreciated.
