In my years on earth I have learned that it is not blood that makes someone family, but rather their words and actions. JoAnne was someone who always seemed to give, and always seemed to smile. She taught her children how to look the other way at people's misgivings, and choose to look for the good in them. I only wish I had a chance to spend more time with her.
