JEAN SMERECKI, 84, of Jackson Twp., NJ, passed away on Wednesday, July 26, 2017, at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold, NJ. She was born in Brooklyn, NY, and resided in South Brunswick, NJ, prior to settling in Jackson Twp., 12 years ago.
Jean was employed as an Administrative Assistant for Rutgers University, New Brunswick, NJ, retiring in 1990 after 11 years of service.
She was a communicant of St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church, Jackson Twp., NJ.
Jean was predeceased by her Parents, John and Mary Biel. She is survived by her Husband of 61 years, Edward Smerecki of Jackson Twp., NJ; her Daughters, Hedyann Dougherty and her Husband, Jim of Toms River, NJ, and Veronica Jarvis and her Husband, Steve of Annandale, VA; her Sister, Adele Nieprzecki of Lakewood, NJ; and by her 5 Grandchildren, Andrew, Timothy, Bernadette, and Claire Jarvis, and Matthew Dougherty.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her visitation from 2-4 & 6-8 PM on Sunday, July 30, 2017, at the GEORGE S. HASSLER FUNERAL HOME, 980 Bennetts Mills Rd., Jackson Twp., NJ 08527. A funeral gathering will be offered at 8:00 AM on Monday, July 31, 2017, at the funeral home. Her Funeral Liturgy will follow at 9:00 AM at St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church, 935 Bennetts Mills Rd., Jackson Twp., NJ 08527. Entombment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Mary Queen of Peace Mausoleum, Massachusetts Ave., Lakewood, NJ.
