Obituary for Domenica "Donna" Pondaco (Cichello)
DOMENICA “DONNA” PONDACO, 93, of Jackson Twp., NJ, passed away on Tuesday, July 25, 2017, peacefully surrounded by loved ones, at home.
Donna was born in Sant ‘Onofrio, Italy on October 15, 1923. She moved to Asbury Park, NJ, in 1966, where she worked in a factory as a Seamstress for 20 years. In 2001, she moved to Jackson Twp. NJ, to be closer to her family.
Donna was predeceased by her Husband, Frank Pondaco; and by her Son, Dominick Pondaco. She is survived by her Daughter and Son-in-law, Giulia and John Cugliari; her Daughter-in-law, Moreen Pondaco; her Sister-in-law, Connie Pondaco, her 8 Grandchildren, who referred to her as Nonna; her 24 Great grandchildren, who referred to her as Candy Nonna or Little Nonna; and by her Nieces and Nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her visitation from 4-8 PM on Thursday, July 27, 2017, at the GEORGE S. HASSLER FUNERAL HOME, 980 Bennetts Mills Rd., Jackson Twp., NJ 08527. A funeral gathering will be offered at 9:30 AM on Friday, July 28, 2017, at the funeral home. Her Funeral Liturgy will follow at 10:30 AM at St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church, 935 Bennetts Mills Rd., Jackson Twp., NJ. Entombment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Route 66, Neptune, NJ.
