Obituary for Ann La Capria (Dupuis)

Ann Emmons La Capria passed away peacefully on Friday, June 23, 2017, Jackson, NJ, with her family at her side. Ann was born on December 1, 1927, in Brooklyn, NY. Ann graduated from Freehold Boro High School and St. Peter’s School of Nursing. She was a registered nurse practicing at Fitkin Hospital (Jersey Shore University Medical Center) and later for Dr. Maggs, Freehold. She retired to Lake Ariel, PA
Ann loved God and was a devout Catholic, serving as a member of the Altar Rosary Society. She ensured that her boys knew their Catechism. Ann supported both of her husbands as Knights of Columbus.
Mom loved being surrounded by her family and friends. Her home was always open to all. When she wasn’t feeding us, she was beating us at some game. She also loved Bingo, often travelling afar to have her chance at the big jackpot. While living in NJ, she was often game for a midnight run to AC.
Ann was preceded in death by her first husband, Nelson Emmons, her sons, Timothy and Greg Emmons, and her second husband, Rocky La Capria. She is also the last of the DuPuis siblings
Ann is survived by her son Kevin Emmons; son Guy Emmons and his Wife Renee; and daughters-in-law, Lora Emmons and Michelle Emmons. She leaves behind five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Ann was also a great mom and grandmother to all the La Capria family.
All of us were touched by Ann’s love, smile, and service. We miss her already. She will be remembered as a caring, loving and nurturing person to all who knew her.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her visitation on Tuesday, June 27, 2017, from 2-6 PM with her Funeral Service at 5 PM at the GEORGE S. HASSLER FUNERAL HOME, 980 Bennetts Mills Rd., Jackson Twp., NJ 08527. For directions, further information, and to send condolence messages to the family, please select a tab on the left.
