Obituary for Gerard J. Milillo

GERARD J. MILILLO, 91, of Columbus, NJ, passed away on Sunday, May 14, 2017, at Virtua-Memorial Hospital of Burlington County, Mount Holly, NJ. He was born in Brooklyn, NY, and resided there until moving to Columbus 30 years ago.
Gerard was employed as a Systems Operational Director for Con Ed, NYC, NY, for 15 years retiring in 1986.
He proudly served in the United States Navy, 6th Marine Division, during World War II as a Pharmacist’s Mate 3rd Class and received the American Theatre Medal, the Asiatic Pacific Medal with 1 star, and the World War II Victory Medal.
He was predeceased by his Parents, Vincent and Catherine Milillo. He is survived by his Wife of 63 years, Marion; his Daughter, Cathy Strack and the late Gary Strack of Jackson, NJ; his Sister, Rita Millillo of Jackson, NJ; and by his Grandchildren, Pamela Strack of Tinton Falls, NJ, and Justine and Jeremy Holmes of Rector, AR.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his visitation on Wednesday, May 17, 2017, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the GEORGE S. HASSLER FUNERAL HOME, 980 Bennetts Mills Rd., Jackson Twp., NJ 08527. A funeral gathering will be offered at 11 AM followed by his Funeral Service at 11:30 AM on Thursday, May 18, 2017, at the funeral home. Interment with military honors will follow in St. Gabriel’s Cemetery, County Highway 520, Marlboro, NJ. Contributions may be made in Gerard’s memory to the American Lung Association, 1031 Route 22 West Suite 203, Bridgewater, NJ 08807.
