Obituary for Michael A. Carrara

Michael A.  Carrara
MICHAEL A. CARRARA, 65, of Jackson Twp., NJ, passed away early Sunday, May 14, 2017, at home surrounded by his wife and children. Born, Miguel Angel Carrara in Montevideo, Uruguay, in July 1951, Michael immigrated to the United States at the age of eighteen. He resided in Elizabeth and Old Bridge before settling in Jackson with his family.
He took all he had learned working as a janitor and started his own successful commercial janitorial services company, along with other small businesses, including a janitorial supply warehouse.
Michael loved to travel, having visited all 50 states, and countries all over the Americas, Europe, Australia and the South Pacific. He also loved soccer, smoking cigars at Jersey Smokes and playing cards.
Michael is survived by his wife, Jeanne Carrara of Jackson; four children, all of Jackson: his son and daughter-in-law, Timothy and Stephanie Carrara; two daughters, Michelle Carrara and Nicole Carrara; his son, Christian Carrara; his mother, Angelica Seone of Manalapan; his father and stepmother, Alexander and Alice Carrara of Jackson; his sister and brother-in-law, Silvia and Raymond Tenpenny, Jr. of Manalapan; his brother and sister-in-law, Gino and Rocio Carrara of Barcelona, Spain; his three grandchildren, Jackson Carrara, Avery Carrara and Drew Carrara of Jackson; his sister-in-law and brothers-in-law, Dominic DiGioia of Manchester, William DiGioia, Jr. of Stuart, FL, Rosemary and Michael Savoye of Freehold; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins around the world.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his visitation on Wednesday, May 17, 2017, from 2-4 and 6-9 PM at the GEORGE S. HASSLER FUNERAL HOME, 980 Bennetts Mills Rd., Jackson Twp., NJ 08527. A funeral gathering will be offered at 9:15 AM on Thursday, May 18, 2017, at the funeral home. His Funeral Liturgy will follow at 10:30 AM at The Church of St. Monica, 679 W. Veterans Highway, Jackson Twp., NJ. Interment to follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, 1 Honey Locust Dr., Lakewood Twp. , NJ.
