John P.  Leonard
JOHN P. LEONARD, age 63, of Jackson Twp., NJ, passed away on Friday, April 14, 2017, at home in the arms of his wife, Malai. He was born in Elizabeth, NJ, and raised in Cranford, NJ, settling in Jackson Twp. 17 years ago.
John was the maintenance manager for CareOne in Jackson Twp. for the last 5 years. In addition, he was a journeyman carpenter in Local Union # 253 and was an avid fisherman.
John was predeceased by his Father, John Leonard. He is survived by his devoted Wife of 17 years, Malai; his children, John Leonard of Metuchen, NJ, and Annie Leonard of Scotch Plains, NJ; his Mother, Dorothy Leonard of Cranford, NJ; his Sisters, Jacqueline Leonard of Chatham, MA, Nancy Cunningham and her Husband, Les of Cranford, NJ, Megan Miller and her Husband, Craig of Cranford, NJ, and Jennifer Leonard and her Wife, Kim of Weehawkin, NJ; his 5 Grandchildren; and by his Step-children, Michelle, Eddie and Matthew.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his visitation on Tuesday, April 18, 2017, from 4-8 PM at the GEORGE S. HASSLER FUNERAL HOME, 980 Bennetts Mills Rd., Jackson Twp., NJ. A private cremation will follow. If so desired, memorial contributions may be made in the memory of John to the Ocean County Animal Shelter, 615 Freemont Ave., Jackson Twp., NJ 08527 or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 510 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105-1942.
