Obituary for Mary D. Tanenbaum (D'Amico)
MARY D. TANENBAUM, age 104, of Jackson Twp., NJ, passed away on Saturday, April 1, 2017, at CareOne at Wall, Wall Twp., NJ. She was born in Lawrence, Mass., and had resided in Virginia Beach, VA, before settling in Jackson Twp. 12 years ago.
Mary worked for the New York City Chamber of Commerce in New York as a librarian for 11 years, retiring in 1974.
Mary sang with City College, the New York Chorus and the Brooklyn Academy of Music for many years.
She was predeceased by her parents, Salvatore and Domenica D’Amico; her daughter, Gail Hicks; her first husband, Thomas Cutrona; and by her second husband, Joseph Tanenbaum in 1994. She is survived by her daughter, Valerie Goss of Jackson Twp., NJ; her grandchildren, Valerie Robitaille of Williamsport, PA, Pamela Goss of Evergreen, CO, and Jennifer Ponsiglione of Chatham, NJ; and by her 4 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her visitation on Monday, April 3, 2017, from 2-6 PM at The GEORGE S. HASSLER FUNERAL HOME, 980 Bennetts Mills Rd., Jackson Twp., NJ. Her Funeral Liturgy will be offered on Tuesday, April 4, 2017, at 9:30 AM at St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church, 935 Bennetts Mills Rd., Jackson Twp., NJ. Please gather at the church at 9:15 AM. A private cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in the memory of Mary to St. Vincent de Paul Society at St. Aloysius RC Church, P.O. Box 1285, Jackson, NJ 08527.
