Obituary for Joseph A. DeVito, Sr.

JOSEPH A. DeVITO, SR., 77, of Jackson Twp., NJ, passed away on Monday, March 20, 2017, at Community Medical Center, Toms River, NJ. He was born in Staten Island, NY, and resided in Jackson Twp., for the past 43 years.
Joseph was the sole proprietor of Kitchen Beautician, Jackson Twp., NJ, specializing in Cabinetry for 20 years.
He was an avid Jackson Little League Coach for over 20 years.
Joseph was a United States Marine Corps Veteran, serving as a Private and received the Good Conduct Medal.
He is survived by his Wife of 52 years, Joann DeVito of Jackson Twp., NJ; his Daughters, Michele DeVito of Barnegat, NJ, and Lenore DeVito Messina and her Husband, Anthony of Jackson Twp., NJ; his Son, Joseph A. DeVito, Jr., of Belmar, NJ; his Brothers, Donald DeVito and his Wife, Elaine of Amsterdam, NY, and Anthony DeVito of NYC; his 4 Grandchildren, Robert Tierney of Toms River, NJ, Alyssa Messina, Brianna Messina, and Antonio Messina all of Jackson Twp., NJ; and by his 2 Great grandchildren, William and Chase.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his visitation from 2-4 & 7-9 PM on Thursday, March 23, 2017, at the GEORGE S. HASSLER FUNERAL, 980 Bennetts Mills Rd., Jackson Twp., NJ. A funeral gathering will be offered at 8:30 AM on Friday, March 24, 2017, at the funeral home. His Funeral Liturgy will follow at 9:30 AM at St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church, 935 Bennetts Mills Rd., Jackson Twp., NJ 08527. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 350 Province Line Rd., Arneytown, NJ 08562.
