HELEN H. HYERS, age 97, of Jackson Twp., NJ, passed away on Tuesday, March 14, 2017, at Bartley Healthcare in Jackson Twp. She was born in Cranford, NJ, settling in Jackson Twp. several years ago.
Helen worked for the Yarn Shop in Point Pleasant, NJ, as a saleswoman and instructor for 5 years. In addition, she also worked for Marge & Phil’s on the Boardwalk in Point Pleasant Beach and was an avid bowler for many years.
She was a former communicant of St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church in Point Pleasant where she was a member of Catholic Daughters and the Altar Rosary Society.
Helen was predeceased by her parents, Augustus and Helen Laurent; her sisters, Ruth Miley and Jean Ermi; and by her husband, Stanley H. Hyers in 1998. She is survived by her children, Andrew and Patricia Hyers of KY, Richard and Ellen Hyers of Toms River, NJ, Barbara and Richard Busch of Jackson Twp., NJ, Constance Hyers of Cranford, NJ, Patricia Murphy of Tarpon Springs, FL, and Teresa and Colleen Hyers of Edison, NJ; her sister and brother-in-law, Elizabeth and Paul Brennan of FL; her brother, Edward Laurent of Scottsdale, AZ; and by her 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her visitation on Friday, March 17, 2017, from 1-3 PM and 5-7 PM with her Funeral Service at 6:30 PM at The GEORGE S. HASSLER FUNERAL HOME, 980 Bennetts Mills Rd., Jackson Twp., NJ 08527. A private cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in the memory of Helen to The Alzheimer’s Association, Central NJ Chapter, 400 Morris Ave., Suite 251, Denville, NJ 07834-1365, www.alz.org, and would be greatly appreciated.
