Barbara  Winant (Finnegan)
BARBARA (nee Finnegan) WINANT, age 77, of Jackson Twp., NJ, passed away on Wednesday, November 16, 2016, at her residence. She was born in Staten Island, NY, and was raised in the Stapleton and Port Richmond sections before moving to Parlin, NJ. She settled in Jackson Twp. 17 years ago.
Barbara was the President of Antonio’s Pasta in Woodbridge, NJ, for 35 years before retiring. Prior to that, she owned Goody Wagon, a lunch truck from 1974 to 1980. In addition, Barbara modeled for David Morris in New York City from 1957-1960.
Barbara was a communicant of St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church in Jackson Twp., a former member of the Red Hat Society and a member of the Bocce team winning the first tournament in the Westlake Golf and Country Club.
Barbara was predeceased by her parents, James and Laura Finnegan; her sister, Carol Asaro; and by her brother, Edward Finnegan. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Richard D. Winant; her daughter, Michele Winant and her husband, Allen Krakower of Parlin, NJ; her sons, Richard D. Winant, Jr. and his wife, Melissa of Winfield Park, NJ, and Steven J. Winant and his wife, Sandra of Jackson Twp., NJ; her grandchildren, Thomas Floch, Kaitlin Floch-Banta, Ashley Sullivan, Amber Winant, Marissa Winant, Gabriel Winant, Jenalyn Winant and Andrew Winant; her great grandchildren, Kay-leigh Banta, Jessie Swagger, Emma Dunn and Finn Sullivan on the way; and by her sister, Lois Koeth of North Carolina.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her visitation on Friday, November 18, 2016, from 7-9 PM at The George S. Hassler Funeral Home, 980 Bennetts Mills Rd., Jackson Twp., NJ 08527. A funeral gathering will be offered on Saturday, November 19, 2016, at 11:30 AM at the funeral home. Her Funeral Liturgy will follow at 1:00 PM at St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church, 935 Bennetts Mills Rd., Jackson Twp., NJ. A private cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in the memory of Barbara to the Marine Corps League of Jackson, Detachment 1369, P.O.
