JOHN J. YANKITIS, SR., 71, of Howell Twp., NJ, passed away on Wednesday, September 24, 2014, at home. John was born and resided in Elizabeth, NJ, until settling in Howell Twp. 45 years ago.
John was the Director of Purchasing for Coni-Seal in Lakewood Twp., NJ.
He was a communicant of St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church in Jackson.
John was a coach for Howell Little League Baseball and Howell Soccer.
He was predeceased by his Parents, Anthony and Anna Yankitis. He is survived by his Wife of 51 years, Barbara (Hogrefe) Yankitis; his Sons, Jay Yankitis of Howell Twp., and Jeremy and Katie Yankitis of Howell Twp.; his Daughter, Donna and Scott Hurley of Jackson Twp.; his Sister, Joan Yankitis of Linden, NJ; and his Grandchildren, Jennifer and Kayla Hurley, Makenna, Brendan and Shea Yankitis.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his visitation on Sunday, September 28, 2014, from 1-5 PM at the GEORGE S. HASSLER FUNERAL HOME, 980 Bennetts Mills Rd., Jackson Twp., NJ 08527. A funeral gathering will be offered on Monday, September 29, 2014, at 8:30 AM at the funeral home. His Funeral Liturgy will follow at 9:30 AM at St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church, 935 Bennetts Mills Rd., Jackson Twp., NJ. Interment will follow in Harmony Cemetery, Harmony Rd., Jackson Twp., NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in John’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942 and would be greatly appreciated.
